For lunch we went to Redwood City to spend time and food with Brian and Janet and their families and in the evening we went to Mick and Xochi's to eat even more and have a great time.
Brian stuffed his turkey with fresh rosemary and Mick and Xochi had a turducken, which is a chicken stuffed into a duck stuffed into a turkey. So much meat, but so good.
Activities and games:
Children's playground after lunch, swinging, sliding and climbing.
Rockband after dessert
Liar dice after dinner (so fun, I actually won once)
I got around doing my own turkey this year, even though I was up for the challenge.
Last night in my bed, this is what happened:
I was in a public toilet that also had showers, the shabby kind of toilets, like they are in high schools. I did my business and found this octopus lying on the floor, close to the drain of the shower, about to dry out and die. I wanted to help him so I turned on the water to keep him moisturized. All of a sudden he grew and grew and grew and turned into a baby rhinoceros, with a cute but dangerous looking little horn on his nose. The poor thing was all confused, why it was standing in a public shower, with all the noise around him.
I wanted to help him but was also scared of him so I did not dare to carry him out. He was about the size of a bulldog. I shouted for help, but nobody gave a damn.
It turned out, the people around were all co-workers and nobody wanted to help. So I decided to call Will Harbin from Affinity Labs, cause I knew he was the only one who cared. I called him and said, I know you are a hunter so you must not shoot this little guy, but I know you can help here. So he came.
All turned out well, the mini rhino was rescued and taken to back to his Mum (don't ask me where we found her!). On the way there he told me that I did not have to be scared of him cause I rescued him. So cute, that little guy.
Dream analysis for beginners:
Various components were coming into this dream, my experience in the last company I worked at, this little leather rhino from Jonathan Adler, which I have been wanting for a long time and my respect for nature and the wild.
Anyhow, these guys don't only make a mess, but also have they got a very strong picking order. There's the chief, and the others have to try and fight to sit next to him and get some seeds too. He goes over and starts a fight with them. I had no idea these little birds (what are they? sparrows?) also had an alpha dog for their herd... just like the big ones.
Cheeky buggers!
Yes, I have red hair now. Or devil hair, as the Economator calls it. Apparently, it makes him more scared of me.
Personally, I am quite happy with it so far. It seems like in winter I like to change my hair color. Last year it was brown, this year it is red. But I must say, the brown did not really do anything for me so I was glad when it washed out.
Happy weekend!
Now that the wedding is done, it's time to get our place more cozy and personal.
As I did not know where to start, we asked an interior designer for some idea help. Since that meeting I've been really inspired and searching for beautiful stuff online.
Meanwhile I came across some really cool artwork on Etsy which is astonishingly affordable and am also more motivated to maybe create some collages myself.
Also in the hallway we are planning to put up a black and white gallery of friends and family.
I will post before and after photos as soon as I have them but we have not even started yet.
